Armature Wire - 3/16" by 10'

Designed and produced to be non-corrosive, lightweight, fully pliable and non-staining, our 3/16” x 10' aluminum armature wire is the preferred clay modeling support framework for sculpted busts and figures up to 24". Our 907C aluminum armature wire will resist corroding beneath your modeling material, including clay and plaster.

Approximate measurements: 6 Gauge (SWG); 3/16" in diameter; 10 feet long.

As an addition, you may want to consider our hand-made armatures for the head, head-bust and/or figure.

If using moist (ceramic/pottery) clay, please note, the armature wire cannot be put in a kiln during firing. The clay will shrink but the wire will not, resulting in cracking and/or breakage. We suggest using a wet and twisted newspaper armature as the paper will burn off during firing; or a wax armature as the wax will melt during firing.
